Build Modes

Before building the setup program you must choose the build mode that will be used to generate it. To change current build mode, select Build > Build Options menu command and then select the build mode you want in the Build Mode property. VisualSetup build modes are:

 

Build Mode

Description

Prototype

Select this build mode when you are generating the setup program for tests.

Release

Select this build mode when you are generating the setup program that will be released.

Trusted Release

Select this build mode when you are generating the setup program that will be released for Windows Mobile devices that implements the trusted setup policies.
