The files are normally installed in folders that will not be easily accessed by the end-user. The way how your end-users will access your application is through the shortcuts.

 

The shortcuts are links to your application's files. You can include a shortcut to a file in any folder you want, but commonly the shortcuts are included in Start Menu directory (%StartMenuDir% variable), Programs directory (%ProgramsDir% variable), Desktop directory (%DesktopDir% variable), or the in program's group (%ProgramGroupDir% variable).

 

By default, the application's shortcuts are includes in the program's group. The program group can be chosen by the end-user during the setup wizard.
